Is there a symbolism in here?

cornflower dozed against matthias's shoulder. she could her the gentle lull of her father's voice and that of john churchmouse, blending with the hum of nocturnal insects from the medow and hedges on this balmy summer night. The summer of the late rose....cornflower turned the words over in her mind, dreamily thinking of the ols rambler that bloomed in the abbey gardens. Nomally it was in full red flower by now.

Is there a symbolism in here?
It's definitely the rose. It's the last bloom on the rosebush. Some sort of end or death is near, I'd say.





September's Garden



Her beauty fading

summer's last rose

clings to life



While subtle winds

gently beckon and

soothe her soul.



In September's garden

fragile blooms

soar on high.



For eternal life

is never ending

and always.

Reply:Unfortunately I don't know the story but it sounds as if the rose is symbolic of something. Do a search for the name of the novel and you will probably find something about symbolism in the novel. Best of luck with it.
